Happy 30th, Es!

Today is Esther's Birthday....an important one, 30! Dave usually calls her "Es"... and while he likes to tease her, as older brothers do, I know that he loves her SO much!!

Isn't she beautiful? :) I know her pretty well by now, and she is an AWESOME wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend!!!

THUS FAR the Lord Has Helped Us....

For those of you that have followed our blog for more than a year, know that it's been a year since we lost Dave's brother to a farming accident, you can read more about that here - if you've just joined the blog.

This past weekend we joined Dave's siblings, parents, and Jodi as we all faced the one year anniversary of the accident. At a service on Saturday there was an opportunity to share your thoughts, memories, and things that have happened over the past year. Dave's dad shared something from 1 Samuel 7:12 that really seemed to summarize the weekend for our family. The verse is: Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, "Thus far the LORD has helped us." It has been a year, and thus far the lord has helped each person make it through each day.

Dave and his dad built a cross to put in the field. It will probably stand there until long after we're all gone. Balloons were launched with a special message attached in memory of Chris - and encouraging anyone that might find it to visit a bible passage online, and to discover Christ in their life.
