Well - some of you who have been following along with our American Idol watching may be wondering what I thought of Matt Giraud not making it through this past week. Well - I didn't think he deserved to make it through this week. He didn't perform the best song compared to the others. I really believe he may have a chance at a Wild Card shot, though --- he's very talented, and I don't think the judges will forget that. Click "play" below to hear the girl that really stole the show this week... she was great! She's only 16!!

Ash Wednesday
One of my favorite classes when I was a senior at SIUC was Histology. My professor, Dr. Dyer, was an older "grandpa" type of professor - and was a wonderful histology teacher.
Anyway, he arrives at class a few minutes late on a certain Wednesday. He has something black smudged on his forehead.....and since I think he's such a great professor I decide it is my duty to let him know he has something on his forehead so that he doesn't go through the entire class... realizing later and wondering why nobody told him.
I distinctly remember that I was sitting in the front row when I graciously let him know about his smudge in front of the entire class.... to which he then informed me that it was "Ash Wednesday."
Can you believe that I was a senior in college before I learned the meaning behind Ash Wednesday???

Pink Ice
We went to an Ice Hockey game on Valentine's Day. There is a semi-pro league in Kalamazoo called the K-Wings. I won tickets on the radio station!!! I'm sure you will all be wondering how I won tickets.... I dialed in and answered the question correctly. The questions was, "Norway's transportation system is going "green" and by 2010 all of their buses will run on this ?" The DJ said to be careful how you phrase it... so I had a feeling I knew the answer. I called in and guessed "human waste." I WAS RIGHT!
Here are some pictures from the game. They dyed the ice pink/red...had hearts on it - someone got married during an intermission...and a proposal happened! It was a fun evening. On another note we have been playing Floor Hockey on Thursday nights - and it's LOADS of fun!! :)

It's a Small, Small, Blogging World
My friend Heather, who blogs here....
Follows a blog of Mandi's, here.....
Mandi posted a link to her friends blog, Bethany (here) who is making tutu's to sell on Etsy to donate towards Cora's playground.
Who is Cora? Cora was the precious little girl of some good friends of the Harder family - Jess & Joel were good friends with Jodi & Chris. The McClenahan's lost their little girl on February 8th to stage 4 cancer - neuroblastoma. They found out that their little girl had cancer sometime around January 22nd.
I think it awesome the response and prayers they have received all around them...even from hundreds they've never met in the blogging community. Here's a picture of the McClenahan's with Cora... thy could really use your prayers to make it through the tough times ahead.

"Everything"
The Drama Team performed a new drama on Sunday morning. This one took quite a bit of hard work for these junior higher's to learn the parts - it's set to the song, "Everything". I'm very proud of them, I think that they did great. They performed it during the Junior High Service on Sunday morning. It was pretty deep, and there were several folks in the audience that shed some tears because they were so touched. I just thought I'd share with you all what we've been up to: (sorry for the low audio quality, and shaking in some parts!)

Look What I Got:
My awesome friend, Heather, gave me this award today!!! It's awesome. I don't know how fabulous I've been at blogging lately, though. :)
I'm supposed to tag five other fabulous blogs.... but I'm just going to say that if your blog appears on my list on the right - I think your blog is fabulous!! So you are ALL getting this award for fabulousness. :) Please pass it on to other fabulous people that you know!!
Now... I'm also supposed to list 5 things that I am addicted to:
1. Going to the movies - we LOVE going to the movies...especially between 4-6pm on weekends when the price is only $4.25.
2. Popcorn - we love it, and we eat it A LOT.
3. The Internet - I just love reading blogs, logging into Facebook, and looking things up on Google!
4. Dave & Snickers - they are the best after a long day of work... just to sit on the couch and cuddle with them. :)
5. Milk Duds - see #1, if I'm at the movies - I'd really like to have a box of milk duds in my hand as well.

Matt Giraud - the person we - kind of, sort of - know!
AMERICAN IDOL - So, truth be told we have only seen Matt Giraud perform a couple of times, but one of them was at a Christmas Party, so it was a pretty small group, and we feel like we know him! Superbowl Sunday
So - we had just a couple of peeps (Jess, Mark, & TJ) over for Superbowl Sunday. One friend, TJ, happens to be a big Steeler fan. He got pretty excited towards the end of the game..... I took a short video of him, and I think it's very entertaining - he is swirling around his "Terrible Towel"!! Enjoy!!! P.S. I know I need to decorate my mantel - any thoughts? Mirror? Picture? Candles? Any thoughts are welcomed.

Clips of The Week
Aren't they precious? I watched several interesting procedures this week. The first being 4-day old puppies that looked much like those on the left getting their tails docked and their dew-claws clipped off. They didn't like it too much... but, when their tails were stitched up and they were placed back in their warm box they were just fine. They were schnauzer/dachsund mixes, and neither of those breeds have long tails, so off they went.
