We had an amazing weekend at the Family Life conference, "A Weekend to Remember." We highly recommend it to any married couple, young or old! It's so great to take time out from everything else going on in your life, and focus on your marriage for a weekend.
The main theme that we will take with us is having "oneness" - it involves complete unity in every aspect of your marriage. Another theme of the weekend was, "leave, cleave, and become one flesh." Do you know what cleave means? One of the speakers said it is to be "stuck like glue" to one another. It is establishing a life-long commitment to each other.
I could go on and on about the many things that we learned, and will take with us into our everyday lives... but, you should just attend yourself! :) This conference is for couples that have a great marriage, an okay marriage, or a marriage on the rocks....ie - it's for EVERYONE! Here is the website if you want to find a place near you: http://www.familylife.com/site/c.dnJHKLNnFoG/b.3204559/k.F5BB/Attend_a_conference.htm

Aren't marriage weekends awesome?! Ours this summer was life-changing! One thing we took away from ours was, "Visit daily, date weekly, get away annually."
I've been wanting to go see that movie - Fireproof. I think Wendy and I are going to try to go next week if it's still out. Have you seen Facing The Giants? It's by the same people. It's good.
Randy & I just saw Fireproof - and it was as good as they say. Good to see Kirk Cameron on the big screen! With the way the world is today there is no "safe" marriage and it's good to fireproof your marriage on a continuous basis and one way is to cover it with prayer. Hope more of these movies keep coming. We also saw Facing the Giants - great show!
